Firstly, the children of the deceased and their spouse inherit alongside each other and with equal rights. However, the surviving spouse's share of the estate may never be less than a quarter (Art. 931 \u00a7 1 ZGB). This rule only has an effect if there are more than three children. If a child has predeceased the spouse, his or her share of the inheritance goes to his or her children.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Only if there are no descendants do the surviving spouse and the parents of the deceased inherit alongside each other and in equal shares, Art. 932 \u00a7 1 ZGB.
