Acquisition of a property in France

In order to become the owner of a property as an heir or legatee, a further French notarised certificate (attestation immobilière or attestation notariée) is necessary, Art. 710-1 Code civil. A European certificate of inheritance or even a German certificate of inheritance would not fulfil these requirements, so that such a certificate should be considered on a regular basis.
