Are wills deposited or registered?

In Switzerland, the Association of Notaries privately operates the Central Register of Wills. Wills, inheritance contracts or even marriage contracts can be deposited there if they have been drawn up by a notary (public will). There is no obligation to file a will, but the register ensures better traceability and therefore greater legal certainty.
